The Khemadasa Foundation presents 'Master and the Silver Screen: A film festival' to honour the memory of “Khemadasa Master” and his contribution to Sri Lankan film music. The festival, which is open to the public free of charge commemorates the ninth death anniversary of Deshamanya Kala Keerthi Dr. Premasiri Khemadasa. The film festival opens the opportunity for the public to see an array great films from the past on the big screen.

Dharmasiri Bandaranayake's Hansa Vilak, a landmark of Sinhala cinema, will be screened on the closing night and will be shown as DCP (Digital Cinema Package), the first such event in the country. There will also be discussions of the films held during the festival. The seats are available on a first come first serve basis.The event will be held at the Tharangani Film Hall.
