She's known to write songs about her colourful love life and regularly makes headlines with her short-lived romances.
But Taylor Swift has no regrets and is even grateful for her experiences of heartbreak, which she says gives her the best lessons - and has even boosted her career.
The 24-year-old starlet gave a revealing interview to ASOS fashion magazine, saying: 'If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige,'
She continued: 'Maybe the stadiums wouldn't be so full and the mantle would be a little more empty.'
'As much as I would really like to have saved myself heartache, embarrassment or gossip, I also know that my biggest mistakes have turned into my best lessons and sometimes my greatest career triumphs'
The leggy lovely graces the cover of the January 2015 issue in a shimmering silver cropped top and mini skirt by Alice McCall and strikes a muscleman pose in the spirit of the 'How To Be A Supergirl By Taylor Swift' cover line.
Taylor also had some thoughts on her circle of confidants, revealing: 'My friends are the kind of people that have their own lives, and their own busy schedules, and that’s why we get along so well.'
'A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don’t really have much of a job or a passion, they follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them and I'm really not interested in that kind of deal.'
The Fifteen singer, who has an enviable wardrobe of adorable mini-dresses and luxurious ballgowns, also said she never dresses for the opposite sex: 'When I'm getting dressed, it's always based on what my friend's will think.
'They are my number one priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life.'
Meanwhile, Taylor and fellow pop sensation Selena Gomez, 22, have rekindled their friendship and even sat side-by-side at the AMAs on Sunday evening.
The I Knew You Were Trouble hit maker heads up an increasingly impressive circle of girlfriends, including Kiwi pop star Lorde, supermodel Karlie Kloss, and Girls creator Lena Dunham.
Meanwhile, Taylor will next perform at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball on December 5 at Staples Center alongside Pharrell, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, and Iggy Azalea.
