Abby Finkenauer, the U.S. Department of State’s Special Envoy for Global Youth Issues, will visit Sri Lanka from November 12-15, 2024, to engage with youth leaders and witness the impact of U.S.-Sri Lanka collaboration on youth empowerment.

During her visit, Special Envoy Finkenauer will highlight U.S. programs in education, leadership, and civic engagement. She will meet with alumni from the U.S. Embassy’s Youth Forum and the USAID-supported Emerging Leaders Academy, which promotes civic engagement and leadership among underrepresented groups.

Finkenauer will also visit initiatives like the Women in Motion program, which encourages young women to pursue careers in creative industries, and will meet with young entrepreneurs benefiting from U.S.-supported skills-building efforts.
