Shangri-la Hotel Colombo was opened on Thursday by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Fernandez and two other Chinese guests were ceremonially registered as the first guests of the hotel by the President. The newest luxury addition to Colombo consists of 541 rooms including 10 two bedroom apartments, 31 one bedroom apartments, 34 suites and 1 presidential suite. Shangri-La already confirmed their partnership with the city’s most popular Sri Lankan cuisine restaurant, Kaema Sutra, founded by celebrity chef Dharshan Munidasa and Fernandez.
